Audio car cd changer Questions and AnswersCar Audio problem.?Q) Got two radios and a CD changer. All three items by VDO. The radios are a CD 721 and a CR 441X, and the cd changer is a CDC 026. The changer connects to either radio with the cable supplied, the cd magazine dissapears into the box (yes I have put the CDs the way up that manual says) , and there is is some clicking and whirring. Both radios say no CDC present and there is no playback. Where have I gone wrong, or are they all totally imcompatible ? The car is a Kia Carens, and the CR441X is the original radio. Anyone out there with any helpful advice or suggestions.

It IS NOT an aftermarket CD player. I think the only port it has on it is a CD changer port, I don't actually have a CD changer.
A) I just went through this....
Do you have a factory stereo or aftermarket?
Check on the back of the stereo, there might be a port already there.
I need to know model of stereo and change though to really help, could be lots of different options depending on what you have.
Dont bother with any FM modulators, they suck...what do standard car audio input jacks look like (i.e. cd changer inputs)?Q) I have a 1992 Dodge Caravan with an infinity AM/FM cassette stereo. I removed it to unjam a stuck tape & noticed 2 inputs on the back. One is round the other is square(similar to a phone jack). what are these inputs for? What options do they give me for add-ons?
A) If they are multi-pinned plugs, then they are probably DIN (Data) connections. Usually for connecting auxillary devices such as a CD changer or GPS system. Check to see what options are available for you van in the audio/video department.Volkswagen CD Changer/Magazine?Q) I recently bought a '99 VW Beetle to find that the CD changer had been removed. If someone could just explain the way CD audio works in these cars and how the magazine comes into play, that would be great.

A) www.crutchfield.com or eBay.com will have everything you needCan you give me advice on upgrading my audio system in my car?Q) I have an older car (93 maxima) and the original owner put some audio equipment in it himself during the early 90's.
It's speakers work well enough to my standards, so I don't want to replace them.
Inside my car I have a cassette player head unit that never worked well at all, and in the trunk I have a 6 CD changer that works decently as far as I know. I have a friend who unhooked entire system for reasons that equate a long story about my moving across country - let's not go there.
How do I ask for what I am looking for without getting upsold? I'd like to keep the 6 CD changer and just get another head unit. Can I get that and have it installed and hooked up to my old equipment? Should I get another cassette player head unit? or a CD player? It doesn't matter to me as long as it's cheap, plays MP3's and I can use the 6 disc CD changer I have in my trunk.
Help me from getting scammed.
Also, how much would you estimate total costs?
THANKS!
A) The most important thin is recognize the brand of your radio and your cd chaner they should be the same. If you buy another radio it has to be the same brand of the CD changer in order to be compatible. Otherwise you won't be able to controll it, UNLESS you buy a cd chaner adapter to connect it throuh the antenna, which I personally don't recomend beacuse no matter what it will alwayss have some distortion from the FM Stations. I would recommend to buy a MP3 radio. can have approximetly 150 sons in just 1 cd. Trust me is the best you can do.JVC Car Audio Reset Codes?Q) I have a JVC KD-SH55 head unit, and aJVC KD-MK77 CD changer. I'm getting a reset code 9 on the head unit. The manual has reset code 8 (check wiring), and reset code 1 thru 7 (reset changer), but no code 9. I've emailed JVC and their only answer is send the changer in for service. I do some electronic work and just need to know what needs to be reset.
A) those codes mean send it in for repairnew in the audio things?Q) I'm new in the audio car but my car a lexux es300 1995's CD and speakers are not function right. Can anyone tell what kind of in-dash CD receiver or a webside that I can check that it will fix in my car [I only have a CD changer at the back] and I also want to change the speakers as well so is there anythings I should know ?
p/s: I prefer to do it by myself so I not going to the shop for it, is it possible for me to do it?thank you for reading my question
A) First off, with that car you could be a few problems to look at. 1) is the the radio that is broken, 2) are any of the speakers blown, 3) are any of the speakers grounding out, 4) is the factory amp bad (i believe it comes with a factory amp, you may want to double check)
Your best bet would be to just replace the radio and all the speakers. For the deck I would recommend Eclipse, Pioneer, or Alpine. And don't go with the entry level deck, start with at least the midrange deck and go up, trust me the sound quality and features will be worth the extra money.
For the speakers you should have 6.5 up front and 6x9s in the rear. I would probably go with Infinity, Polk Audio, or Eclipse. However, MTX and Kicker also make good speakers. If you want to go for a little less expensive speaker (i don't recommend it), then I would probably go with Pioneer, Sony, or Alpine.2007 Mazda 6 6-disc cd changer won't play my mp3's?Q) I recently bought a 2007 Mazda 6 5-door and it came with a 6-disc cd changer. the instruction manual said that it plays mp3s so i made a cd full of mp3s and couldnt wait for my car to be filled with 700mb worth of mp3 x 6! however, wen i put the mp3 disc in, the cd player would not play it. i could see it stuck on track 1, and time passing by, but there is no sound whatsoever. how do i make it play mp3s?? is there a special program you have to download, etc?
*i know it plays burned cds because i burned a couple songs on a blank cd (but made it a 12-track audio disc)
any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
A) There's no program you can download (to your car, I'm assuming you mean), but try the disk in another MP3 player to make sure you made it right, and double check the docs - maybe they need a specific MP3 format (in terms of quality) in order to play.
